The Legal Ease Library Inc. began in 1994 as a sideline business of an Alberta law firm which wanted to offer an alternative to people like you, who:
- Want access to solid legal information; and/or
- Want to actually complete certain legal matters yourself.
Thus, the kits were developed with these two basic purposes in mind. One, to provide comprehensive information to help you understand the important legal issues which must be considered and addressed when completing a legal task. And, two, to provide proper documentation and instructions to allow you to complete the task to the same standard as though the lawyers were doing it themselves. (The incorporation kit, for example, is exactly the same product that the firm sold as lawyers for over $1,200.00. Likewise, the Wills kit and the Personal Directives Kit contain the same precedent materials the lawyers were working with, etc.)
While these kits were initially only offered through the law firm, in 1998 when the Alberta Government-authorized Corporate Registry Services to be provided through the many Alberta Registry Offices, it seemed like the Registry Offices would be the perfect retailer to make these kits more widely available to the public.
To date, over 200,000 Legal Ease™ Kits have been sold since 1999 through over 120 AMA and Alberta Registry Offices.
